Ice Monster in Bangkok

I briefly mentioned about Ice Monster in one of my posts on Bangkok food, but after my recent trip to Bangkok last weekend (yup 2 months after my first one), I figured it deserves a post of its own!

What is Ice Monster? Basically it’s a shaved ice dessert that has condensed milk mixed in with fruit toppings of your choice. It is absolutely yummy and I insist that it it a must visit with every trip to Bangkok.

As you can see in the image below, there are so many choices for the toppings. You can choose up to 3 toppings and it’s all very affordable. A regular sized cup with one topping costs 85 baht which amounts to abt S$3.50 and it’s a HUGE serving (just wait for the photos).

During my April trip, I tried the strawberry one (strawberries are like my default fruit for anything) and FP had longans as toppings:

And during my girly Bangkok trip last weekend (more on this in the next few blog posts), these were what we had. I had watermelons as topping because it was yet another really hot day in Bangkok and I wanted something thirst quenching, and Rara (my awesome travel partner) had strawberries AND bananas on hers. We were so, so happy when we saw that the banana slices were covered in chocolate sauce and nuts.

It was just a happy moment ok? Check this out:

I love how pretty everything from Ice Monster appears on photos! AHHH. It’s always such a happy thing to have, which is why (I repeat) this is a must-have when you go to Bangkok.

So far I’ve spotted two outlets: One is at the ever famous wholesale mall – Platinum Fashion Mall, and the other is at this fancy new all (which I will blog about soon) – Terminal 21.

You can also visit the Ice Monster website for more info. It’s mostly in Thai, but there’s nothing Google Translate cant help you understand! :P
