The iPhone app that’s going to end up frustrating me and taking up all my time in the next few days (or weeks!) is Angry Birds Space. I just got it yesterday and here’s the gist of it.

Basically the story line is the same as the original Angry Birds, just that the stage is set in space this time. Bird has eggs, green pigs steal it. War ensues.

So the starting planet (can I call it planet?) is the Pig Bang – Oh yes, every pun intended.

Here are some screengrabs of some level. The birds you get are similar to the ones in the original but they are more techy and space-y now. Game play is the same but now there’s gravity in play so that makes it that much more interesting / frustrating.

And finally, the level I’m stuck at – Level 20. The purple birds are something like the green boomerang birds in the original game. But this one is more difficult to control as they can shoot off in any direction but the one you want them to go. I’ve been stuck since last night. Help!

There are also secret levels in the game that you access by shooting at a golden egg. Upon shooting, you will travel through space and time to a mini game kind of level

It does not make any difference if you manage to solve the puzzle at this secret level but once you get out of it (again through rapid space travel), you cant access it again – because there’s no more golden egg.

It’s a fun game overall, addictive and potentially it can take over the world. What am I saying? Angry birds has already taken over the world in the past few years, which is why now it’s taking over SPACE!
