Greatest Hits Tour Singapore

It’s funny how I’ve known about this concert since October 2011 and went back and forth about going until late last week. Perhaps it was the ticket prices that made me hesitate (Cat 1 ticket prices could get me a decent seat for Wicked), but then I chanced upon this deal from Deal.com.sg

(Sorry all photos were taken with my iphone, as I didn’t want to lug my camera into the concert venue – I wouldn’t have been able to zoom in with the lens I have anyway.)

The slashed prices made it completely irresistible, and my mind was made up as soon as I saw the deal. Was keen to get Cat 1 tickets (priced at $97), but they were sold out. But settled for Cat 2 tickets instead – VERY worth it for $84 (original price $151). I think I’m in love with deal sites now. Seriously.

I was surprised at how close we actually were to the stage. We were indeed very lucky :)

We actually moved to the aisle shown in the photo slightly into the concert started because the girls behind us were really annoying. But it’s no lost cause – we became even closer to the stage!

Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees)

The concert was supposed to start at 8, but of course it didn’t start till almost 9. It opened with Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees – making us swoon and blush with dreamy 98 Degrees songs and hype up to his catchy new songs.

He even sang I Do (Cherish You) to this lucky babe!

There was of course a HUGE technical glitch where the track for Jeff’s songs looped endlessly. Not for one song, but two songs consecutively. That was really uncalled for, especially when we were all in the dark for at least 10 minutes while they fixed the problem. Not happy! But then later on Jeff came out again to sing and mingle through the crowd to make up for lost time.

a1

Next up was a1. This act really brought a lot of fond memories, especially with songs like “Everytime” and “Like a Rose”. I’m sure every girl in the stadium was practically swooning to most of their songs.

I absolutely enjoyed a1′s performance, and have always loved them – I think Mark looks particularly hotter as he gets older ;)

BUT I have to say that a1′s time on stage was way, way too long. They had the bulk of the time of the entire concert, and perhaps because of the initial technical difficulties – the other 2 acts (especially Blue) left the fans wanting more.

And of course, during the performance of Like a Rose, a lucky lady got a bouquet of flowers!

Blue

And then, it was finally time for BLUE.

Blue

This was the third time I’ve watched Blue Live, the last time being as recent as October 2011 (didn’t blog about it, I probably should). And every single time I catch them live, I know that I will not regret it.

By this time, we were all hyped up and on our feet. I daresay we were on our feet throughout all of Blue’s performances. It was a real workout ;)

The boys started out with semi-formal outfits. Lee was in suspenders, I could have died. Because suspenders are currently my favourite accessory on a guy right now.

I will never, ever get tired of listening to Lee Ryan hit that high note in Breathe Easy. It’s such a beautiful moment that you just have to close your eyes for a second and forget everything. Lovely.

And then!! They changed to a very, very familiar set of outfits. So darn cute. Anybody recognize these from 2001?

YES. THEY DRESSED EXACTLY LIKE THEY DID IN THE ALL RISE VIDEO. OMG. IT WAS LIKE WATCHING THE VIDEO LIVE. AHHHHH.

How cute are these guys. I know I sound 18 right now but who cares?!

DIED. GONE TO HEAVEN. OKAY SHA, CALM DOWN.

My only complaint is that the concert ended quite abruptly without any encore. Like come on, there’s always an encore. We actually stood there for awhile to see if there was gonna be an encore. Sorely disappointed. Not to mentioned that the slot for BLUE was really, really short.

I believe that this concert could have been better organized, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. A walk down memory lane, with all the songs that made me laugh, and cry in my teens. It was truly a teenage dream come true tonight.

Thank you boys <3

p/s: looking forward to seeing better quality photos from the concert!
